Merced

Merced is a fast growing community in the heart of California’s San Joaquin Valley with a population of 90,000 people. Although it is a small town it offers amenities routinely found in larger cities. Also, known as the “Gateway to Yosemite,” the city boasts a low cost of living and first-rate quality of life. Merced is just a couple hours from Yosemite National Park and is a convenient two-hour drive from San Francisco and Sacramento. Merced has an excellent school system including a community college, Merced College, and the University of California, Merced, which opened in 2005. Merced welcomes new students, families, and friends yearly. The community offers abundant shopping, pleasant neighborhoods, many parks and tree-lined streets.
